Walking along a street called Amerika-Mura in Osaka, you’d probably pass by this restaurant without ever knowing it existed. It’s name is Ueshima, and it is probably one of the best “kushiage” (skewered fried foods) restaurants in the world. With only twelve seats, this hole in the wall restaurant is operated by one man and one waitress, he serves Omakase style and the food just keeps coming until you say stop.
He served things like cream croquette with shrimp, fried white fish topped with uni, shiso wrapped beef with fresh ground wasabi, and the butteriest melt in your mouth bite sized steak (literally melts in your mouth)…
If you are ever in Osaka or even Kyoto, its definitely worth the trek.
